Members-Producers
The producers of Lountza Pitsilias PGI, Loukaniko Pitsilias PGI and Hiromeri Pitsilias PGI are registered in a Producers’ Registry maintained by the competent authority, which is the Department of Agriculture. Producers maintain records of raw materials (supplier, quantities, dates, expiration details, batch numbers), as well as all processes, and use appropriate labelling to ensure product traceability. They also maintain records regarding the sale of their products. Additionally, producers periodically conduct chemical analyses of the meat, wine, and final product to ensure their suitability according to the current standard and relevant applicable legislation.
The producers and suppliers of pork meat (pig farms, slaughterhouses, meat cutting labs, transporters) are registered in registries maintained by the official competent authorities and are available to all interested parties, including authorities, for inspection purposes. The above also applies to wine producers and vine growers of the Mavro Variety within the defined geographical area, Pitsilia, where there may be vines of the "Maratheftiko" (Vamvakada) variety.
